join MSW practicum student Amie Prince (Cree) for a guided mindfulness and self-reflection activity focused on body awareness, emotional grounding, and self-compassion. Through breathing, gentle reflection, and body check-ins, participants will practice recognizing emotions, building self-kindness, and strengthening connection to themselves and others. These wellness circles are open to all genders. Under supervision of owiyasiwêw Lisa L’Hirondelle (MSW, IJE RSW).

Indigenous Focusing-Oriented Therapy (IFOT) is a fully articulated Indigenous psychotherapeutic approach that offers a decolonizing, genocide-informed, land-based, and body-centered framework for addressing complex, intergenerational and colonial trauma. recognizing the need for more accessible IFOT training, ᒪᐢᑭᐦᑭᕀ maskihkiy wellness has taken up hosting ongoing hybrid (virtual & in-person) cohorts in Alberta. IFOT consists of seven 3-day modules over the course of a year.

ᒪᐢᑭᐦᑭᕀ maskihkiy wellness also hosts Indigenous Tools for Living (ITFL), a shorter 3-5 day training in frontline tools for trauma and genocide. sign up for the waitlist, or request a private booking for your community, organization or group today!
