Edmonton
this immersive program offers a decolonized, land‑based approach to understanding and working alongside complex trauma. grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems, participants learn to create protected spaces for difficult stories, to remain centred in the presence of pain, and to draw on the land, animals, and ancestral wisdom as active helpers in clinical and community work. for clinicians, frontline workers, first responders, survivor‑support teams, counsellors, peer supporters, and anyone working closely with trauma and crisis in urban, rural, or on‑reserve communities. What you will learn: - How to create protected, land‑based spaces for hearing trauma - Staying centred and grounded in difficult stories and interactions - Recognizing and setting down personal, vicarious, and intergenerational trauma - Working with Indigenous helpers (cedar, stones, water, land) - Understanding grief as collective and intergenerational - Using dreams and twisted thoughts as guides - Strengthening practice with decolonizing Indigenous therapeutic skills
